Jeremy T. Jordan
This is my journey.
Hello,My name is Jeremy T. Jordan, and I am the creator of what I call CSD (Conscious Subconscious Dynamics), as well as the founder of CSD Mind.
My hope with CSD Mind is to be able to assist as many people as I can in having a greater awareness of how their mind works, allowing them to be able to enhance any area of their life. My belief is that when people have a much better understanding of their own thoughts, emotions, and actions; they will be more able in understanding others. It is my desire to make people's lives, as well as the world, a little better by helping people increase their emotional intelligence, empathy, and self-awareness. In this section I want to give a brief description of the journey that brought me to where I am today and how CSD came about. So let us begin where it all started... |
The story begins when I was 18 years old, fresh out of high school, with no direction. I just had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
Then I was introduced to what I thought was going to be my ticket to riches. This opportunity was a well known multi-level marketing company. I didn't end up making much money, but I gained the priceless gift of finding my starting point for my life's purpose. You see, one of the things this company did, was to give the members a cassette tape (it was the early 90s) each week to listen to in order to help train us and keep us motivated. I found most of these tapes to be somewhat boring. That was until I was given a tape entitled "It's Not Over Until I Win" by a guy named Les Brown. Something about his simple message connected with me. I went and found more of his stuff, and from there became obsessed with the world of motivation and self-help... |
Two years after first listening to that Les Brown tape, I found myself on the couch in the middle of the night, flipping through the channels on the T.V. because there was just nothing to watch (even with 100+ channels).
That was when I first saw the infomercial for Tony Robbins self-improvement system, Personal Power II. At the time I had "limited funds" and just could not afford the more than $300 it cost. Yet, I noticed during the infomercial they keep saying "best selling author of several books". I remember thinking that I couldn't afford the tape set, but I could afford a book. The next day I went to the book store and found 3 of Tony's books. I could only get one, so I ended up getting the one with the latest copyright date thinking it would have the newest information. That book was Awaken the Giant Within. Tony's book dramatically shifted my perspective about self-improvement and motivation. The book was full of so many great insights, yet the 3 most important things I got out of it were:
It was that last point that changed my direction. I realized what I wanted from self-help was to understand the human condition, to understand how the mind works. So I started to study more psychology, sociology, and anything else I could find relating to how the mind worked. I wanted to know why people were the way they were. Then... |
In the summer of 2002 something amazing happen. I was at work reading a little book on Sigmund Freud, in which there was a section on dreams.
I can recall thinking to myself that I just didn't agree with the theories the book was talking about. That's when I asked myself the question "what is the purpose of dreams?" Suddenly my mind started to race with all kinds of thoughts and ideas. I ended up leaving early for my lunch break and going to a store to buy a notebook. I sat in my car just writing down all kinds of ideas pertaining to the human mind and how it is set up and operates. The information was just flowing out of me as if I was guided. In what was one of the fastest two hours of my life I almost filled the entire notebook with ideas, diagrams, and charts. This notebook would become the starting point for CSD. I never did go back to finish the book on Freud. In fact the dollar bill I was using for a bookmark is still in the spot where I became inspired. My mind had shifted. I no longer was just reading books about the mind, but I was formulating my own thoughts and theories. This process continued for... |
Ten years. From 2002 till 2012, I continued to read all kinds of books on human psychology and self-improvement, including NLP, which I particularly enjoyed.
I also expanded my reading into the areas of leadership, sales, marketing, negotiations, mentalism, body language, and mind control, because they all related back to the human mind and how it works. Yet during this time I was not just taking in information from reading books, listening to tapes, or looking into research. I was generating random ideas of my own. I would write these ideas either within the book I was reading or inside some random notebook I happen to have. Then in 2012 I decided it would be a good idea... |
To take all these random ideas I had regarding the human mind and begin working on putting them together into one system.
I ended up working on this project off and on for well over a year before I finally had something I considered uniformed where all the parts worked together. This was the birth of CSD. Over the years since then, I have modified it here and there as I developed new ideas. It is a project that will never really be finished. I'm sure there will be many more adjustments to be made in the future as I make more distinctions. Yet it is a process I deeply enjoy. I created Know Thy Mind so that I could share the tools and strategies of CSD with others in hopes of helping them to live more successful, happier, and truly fulfilling lives. So let me ask you a question... "How may I help you?" |
